Booster vaccine against covid-19 will be applied every four months starting this week

Nicolás Maduro reported this Tuesday that, on the recommendation of the committee in charge of monitoring covid-19 in the country, the booster vaccine will be applied every four months. A measure that will come into force this week, although it did not offer more details.

To date, the period for the application of the booster vaccine was six months.

102% vaccination goal

On the other hand, Mature assured that 102% of the vaccination goal once morest covid-19 was reached in people over 18 years of age.

“Thanks to China, thanks to Russia, thanks to Cuba, the people of Venezuela have their full vaccinations,” he said.

In addition, he pointed out that among the population of minors between 2 and 17 years of age, 56% of the established goal was exceeded.

“Boys and girls, young people from Venezuela, we are ready to vaccinate them,” he added, inviting parents and representatives to vaccinate minors.

He also said that there was a significant reduction in the rate of infections.

“We went from 41 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 18 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.” he specified.

Finally, he announced that this February 22, 397 cases of coronavirus were registered in the country.
