Under-18s can start booking their Covid booster shots online from Monday.
Additional doses will initially be available for 40,000 16- and 17-year-olds – as Prime Minister Boris Johnson prepares to scrap Covid Plan B rules.
The NHS revealed that almost 900,000 teenagers in the age group – around seven in ten – received a dose.
And some 600,000 have already visited jab sites for their second.
They will be eligible for a third in the coming weeks following a three-month interval between doses.
Invitations will be sent out to encourage large turnout, with the group able to book through an online system or simply have one at their nearest walk-in centre.
Until now, boosters have only been recommended for clinically vulnerable people in this particular age group.
Analysis by the UK Health Safety Agency has shown that a booster, in addition to the two doses, increases protection once morest Omicron.
But the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization says the NHS is unable to sting 16- and 17-year-olds who have had a positive case of Covid in the previous 12 weeks.
Those considered high risk must wait four weeks.
