This year, the prize money for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations is increasing compared to the previous edition.
“CAF has made significant progress over the past two years in increasing funding for the CAN and all its other major competitions. We have increased the prize money for the CAN winner to $7 million, which is a 40% increase from the previous CAN” explain Patrice Motsepe, President of the African Football Confederation (CAF). “I am confident that part of this amount will contribute to the development of football and benefit all football stakeholders, while assisting our member associations in their administration.”
For this 34th edition which takes place in Ivory Coast, the total allocation amounts to 21.2 million dollars, or approximately 19 million euros.
The big winner will walk away with a bonus of $7 millionwhile the runner-up will pocket $4 million.
