Bono shares a preview of his upcoming autobiography

U2 singer Bono has announced the release of his autobiography. The artist will actually unveil his memoirs next November, a project entitled “40 Songs, One Story”, or “40 songs, a story”.

This 576-page volume will be released next November via Alfred A. Knopf, and in audio format via Penguin Random House. As the title implies, this book will explore the origins of 40 titles from U2’s discography. Each chapter will be named following a song and will also explore Bono’s life and critical moments in his life.

On his 62nd birthday yesterday, Bono shared a preview of the book in the form of a narrated animation during which he narrates the ‘Out of Control’ chapter, detailing early U2 singles including the title track released in 1979.

Furthermore, Bono recently performed at a metro station in Kyiv, even as Russia besieged the Ukrainian capital.

Russia decided to invade the European country last March, and although caution is advised in the capital, Bono went there to sing following being invited by President Volodymir Zelensky himself. The artist thus performed while the air raid sirens sounded in the city. Guitarist The Edge was also present and the two musicians were able to perform several songs together in this station which has been converted into a bomb shelter since Russian forces entered Ukrainian territory. In front of a handful of spectators, as well as soldiers from the Ukrainian army, Bono sang U2 classics such as “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “With or Without You” and “Desire”.
