In the dynamics of the implementation of his policy of modernization of agriculture, the Togolese President, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, proceeded, on Thursday, April 20, 2023, to the launch of the works of the Regional Center for Agricultural Mechanization (CRMA) of Kara . Executed in the form of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concluded with Bonkoungou Distribution (BKG), this project aims to improve the yields of the peasant world in Togo.

After having distinguished itself on the Togolese market for the rental and sale of machinery, machinery, vehicles and spare parts for various uses, Bonkoungou Distribution (BKG) is in the process of forging a reputation in the agricultural modernization sector.

In effect, the government of the Togolese Republic has bet on this subsidiary of the EBOMAF Group to lead a very important part of the professionalization of actors in rural areas. The two parties have just entered into a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) as part of the construction of the Regional Center for Agricultural Mechanization (CRMA).

Bonkoungou Distribution (BKG) Togo

Located in Tchitchao, not far from Kara, it is a pilot center covering an area of ​​thirty thousand (30,000) square meters or three (03) hectares. It will be equipped with modern materials and equipment to facilitate the different stages of agricultural production. BKG was entrusted with the design, construction and equipment of the said Centre. She is also responsible for soil preparation, sowing, crop maintenance, harvesting and post-harvest tasks.

Through a user-pay agreement signed with the Togolese State, the company is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facilities, installations and equipment of the CMRA. Intervening in the provision of mechanized plowing services, the sale and rental of agricultural machinery and equipment to users, the training of young people in agricultural mechanization trades and the promotion of rural entrepreneurship.

The prospects for the modernization of Togolese agriculture, of which mechanization occupies a prominent place, constituted the crux of the exchanges at this meeting of the agricultural world. Under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (MAEDR), the Regional Center for Agricultural Mechanization (CRMA) is a presidential initiative that is part of a vision of structural transformation of the rural sector and of the peasant world. Spread over a period of twenty-five (25) years, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concluded between the Togolese government and BKG for its operationalization, envisages the creation of a field school with a view to professionalizing farmers and to increase their yields to establish food self-sufficiency.

Guided by a concern for performance, the CMRA therefore aims to offer Togolese farmers in general and those of the Kara region in particular access to quality mechanization equipment and services. It will also encourage the training of young people in mechanization trades and promote rural entrepreneurship.
