As Ukraine continues to resist the Russian invasion, the United States has provided Ukraine with multiple sets of M142 “Himas” High Mobility Multiple Launch Rocket System (HIMARS), which has achieved a series of results. Ukraine announced today (25 days) that since it received the Haimas provided by the United States last month, it has used Haimas to destroy 50 Russian military ammunition depots and cut off the Russian military’s logistics supply chain.
According to Archyde.com, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov stressed in remarks on Ukrainian state television that Khaymas was increasingly important to Ukraine’s resistance to Russian aggression. “This cuts off their (Russian military’s) logistical supply chain and takes away their ability to launch a fight and bombard our troops with force,” he said.
Reznikov also said Ukrainian artillery had launched “precise” attacks on several bridges. Although he did not provide details, he was apparently referring to the Russian-occupied Kherson area, where officials said three bridges had been attacked by Haimas in the past week. He also pointed out that Ukraine has received three Gepard anti-aircraft combat vehicles, the first of the expected 15, and is expected to receive dozens of Leopard combat vehicles in the future.
Russia has previously claimed to have destroyed multiple Haimas, all of which Ukraine has denied. Serhiy Leshchenko, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff, pointed out that “Russia is trying to prevent the supply of weapons from the West and intimidating Ukrainian allies with the fictitious power of the Russian military.” The Russian Defense Ministry also claimed today Russian forces have destroyed the Khaymas ammunition depot in Khmelnitsky, western Ukraine.
