Three officers were injured today in Bologna, during clashes with anarchists and antagonists who wanted to prevent the authorized procession of Casapound and Rete dei patrioti. This was announced by police commissioner Antonio Sbordone in a note in which the police headquarters takes stock of today’s three demonstrations in the Emilian capital. The commissioner underlined how the police were attacked, “in a particularly cowardly manner, given the numerical disproportion of the troublemakers compared to the officers, who were subjected to the throwing of bottles, bats and paper bombs”. “Three colleagues were injured and I extend my sympathy to them and wish them a speedy recovery,” Sbordone said.
On two occasions, during today’s march in Bologna, armed anarchists with covered faces attempted to attack the officers, with three who, as mentioned, were injured in the clashes. «The group attributable to the anarchist area, around 200 people, started a procession from Piazza dell’Unità along various streets of the city centre, twice coming across the blockade of the State Police Department. In these phases numerous demonstrators, misrepresented and armed, attempted to attack the officers”, the Police Headquarters bulletin. Reactions of condemnation from the left? Not received.
