The President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacora, arrives this Thursday in Argentina. As part of the activities, which include meeting with Alberto Fernández, he will receive the honorary doctorate from the Metropolitan University for Education and Work (UMET).

The ceremony, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7can be followed live through the official channel of Page 12. The words of welcome to the event will be given by the general secretary of SUTERH, Victor Santa Maria.

Arce Catacora will receive the highest academic distinction for his achievements in public management, as an undergraduate and postgraduate professor, and his numerous merits as part of the government of former President Evo Morales, among other reasons, exposed la UMET.

In addition, you will receive as a gift a duster from the hands of the teaching community; and a present and an acknowledgment of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo founding line, Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo and Relatives of the Disappeared and Detained for Political Reasons.

The act will end with a few words by Arce.

They will also be part of the stage Maia Pear (Academic Secretary of the UMET), Gimena Vitali (Administrative Secretary), Ana Natalucci (Secretary of Research and Development), Jorge Ramiro Tapia Sainz (Ambassador of Bolivia in Argentina) and Ariel Basteiro (Argentine Ambassador to Bolivia).

Arce meets with Alberto Fernández

This Thursday is Arce’s first official visit to Argentina. The main objective of the meeting with President Fernández is “unlock” the negotiations for the purchase of gas from Bolivia to ensure supply during the winter.

“The presidents of Argentina and Bolivia decided to lead the negotiation for the supply of gas for the winter themselves because has been stuck for months and represents a strategic and essential resource for our country,” said Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero.
