Bolívar was crowned in the first Women’s Indigenous Games (+Video)

The representation of the Bolívar state became the first champion of the Women’s Indigenous Games, organized by the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) and which took place from Saturday, October 12 to Wednesday, October 16 in the Anzoátegui state.

The competition, in the under 16 category, had a grand final in which Bolívar and Amazonas faced each other at the Pancho Alegría stadium, located in the Simón Bolívar Sports Complex in Barcelona.

There the Bolivarians imposed themselves forcefully. They beat the Amazonas girls 4-0, led by scorer Oriana López, who scored three goals, and one more from Jhaiza González.

Lopez’s achievement

It is worth noting that López was also the top scorer of the tournament with 12 goals in four games.

Regarding the rest of the positions, Delta Amacuro took third place by defeating Nueva Esparta. The fifth place belonged to Zulia after beating Anzoátegui and Sucre stayed in seventh place after beating Monagas.

Aim

According to a press release from the FVF, the Indigenous Games were designed with the interest of attracting potential talents from remote latitudes of the national geography.

The entity, chaired by Jorge Giménez, added that the objective is to seek to amplify opportunities for female soccer players who are trained within the country’s native communities.
