Boeing in May: 69 orders and 50 deliveries

Boeing recorded last month 69 ordersand has delivered 50 aircraft to airlines, leasing companies or military customers.

In May 2023, the American aircraft manufacturer posted 69 gross orders against 34 in April, including 59 for the family 737 MAX (all unidentified) and ten for the family 787 Dreamliner – including the four 787-8s ordered by Air Niugini. Eleven cancellations, including seven 777Fs and one 777-300ER, leave Boeing with 58 net orders in May ; since the beginning of the year, the aircraft manufacturer has 223 gross orders by 21 customers including ten unspecified, 127 after cancellation and conversions and 262 net orders after reinstatement of aircraft (mainly MAX) that came under the ASC 606 accounting standard.

Side deliveriesBoeing announces 50 in May against 35 the previous month: 35 737 MAX were awarded to Southwest Airlines (11) and Ryanair (6), among others, and eight 787 Dreamliner in particular for KLM, British Airways and EVA Air (one 787-10 each), American Airlines (two 787-8s) or Turkish Airlines (one 787-9). We will also remember the three 777F delivered to China Airlines, China Southern Airlines and DHL America, and the three 767-300F delivered to FedEx Express and UPS. Finally a 737-800A was delivered to the Government of South Korea (the third in as many months).

Over the first five months of 2023, Boeing has totaled 206 deliveries (compared to 244 for its European rival), which leaves it with an order book (backlog) of 4634 aircraft dont 3655 737 MAX116 767327 777 et 539 787 Dreamliner.
