The well-known smartphone display manufacturer BOE has made a leap at CES 2024 with smart displays. And this time the presentation has to do with a panel especially dedicated to those who own a vehicle.

Thus, the manufacturer has developed a touch screen that extends across 45 inches of the dashboard in order to encompass the car’s intelligent entertainment and instrumentation controls. BOE claims the smart dashboard version is “the first of its kind” and is 7.5mm thick.

BOE says the display improves the in-vehicle experience and will make the driver safer, while keeping passengers occupied and entertained.

But they have not only presented that, they have also unveiled the new 45-inch, 9K Oxide Mini LED “one-piece display for vehicles.” This display is the highest resolution in a smart dashboard display, and is combined with a high refresh rate of 90 Hz, a contrast ratio of millions of levels and a brightness of 1,500 nits.

BOE has partnered with Corning to give the 9K display a curved surface manufactured using a “cold bending” process. We do not know, however, when this BOE smart screen will hit the market, nor which manufacturers will adopt it. But apparently, this technology is advancing by leaps and bounds.
