Body temperature measurement feature coming in the eighth generation of the Apple Watch

Apple was working on the body temperature measurement feature in the current seventh generation of the Apple Watch, but it was unsuccessful and failed to include it in the watch and was launched without it.

Now that feature seems ready and will be available with the next eighth generation of the Apple Watch Series 8, and according to the famous leaker Ming-Chi Kuo, measuring body temperature via the Apple Watch will depend more on artificial intelligence algorithms more than the temperature sensor.

The reason for this is that we wear the watch around the wrist and this is not the right place to measure body temperature accurately and also makes the measurement process more influenced by external factors. This was the challenge that Apple faced, and it is solving it with algorithms rather than sensors.

Major companies are currently competing to develop this feature, and Apple may take a lead in this if it succeeds in designing it in the eighth generation of its upcoming smart watch at the end of this year.

The leaker Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned that Samsung is facing similar challenges in including the temperature measurement feature in its smart watch and may not have time before the launch of its awaited Galaxy Watch 5 in the second half of 2022.

The Apple Watch will be able to monitor body temperature, and this feature is useful to alert the user when his temperature rises, either for pathological reasons such as the presence of an infection, for example, or during excessive physical activity, or for other things such as analyzing the change in a woman’s body temperature to predict the dates of her menstrual cycle and ovulation.

Another thing that is expected to be supported by the upcoming Apple Watch (the eighth generation) is wireless communication via satellite in the event of an emergency without the need for an iPhone or regular wireless networks.
