Body Tech Med, vitamin D deficiency test within 12 minutes, approved for diagnostic kit
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Yoo Seon-hyun = Body Tech Med[206640]announced on the 13th that the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety received an item approval for a diagnostic kit (product name: ichroma Vitamin D Neo) that can detect vitamin D deficiency within 12 minutes in a medical field.
Most vitamin D diagnosis is made by requesting a consignment institution that uses large equipment, so the patient has to visit the hospital for the test and then visit once more to check the results.
However, the company explains that Body Tech Med’s products can check whether or not vitamin D deficiency is present within 12 minutes at hospitals and clinics, thereby eliminating the hassle of having to revisit patients.
In addition, the test has become more convenient by extending the sample from the existing serum and plasma to whole blood that does not require a separate purification process. It is compatible with Body Tech Med’s rapid antigen diagnostic device (ichroma), so there is no need to purchase duplicate diagnostic devices.
Vitamin D plays a role in regulating blood calcium and phosphorus levels within the normal range, and vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of osteoporosis in adults and inhibits bone growth in infants and adolescents.
