“The preliminary forensic medical findings lead to the initial conclusion that the man’s cause of death was likely a homicide,” the state police headquarters announced on Thursday. “The body parts showed signs of blunt force,” police spokeswoman Julia Schick confirmed to the APA.
More on the subject:
The investigators are now hoping for further clues regarding the man’s identity from a DNA analysis. A result can probably be expected in the next few days. For tactical reasons, the police did not want to comment on whether identification documents were found along with the body parts.
An angler fished the human remains out of the water in the Black Paint area on Saturday. The State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation and searched the area with divers from the Cobra special unit and the police dog unit. The Cobra officers then found additional body parts during the dives.
