Body found in plastic bags in Mixco ravine that could be that of a kidnapped woman
The MP is investigating the kidnapping of a woman, whose body was reportedly found in a ravine in Mixco.

The Municipal Firefighters of Mixco announced that at the request of the Public Ministry (MP), on Sacoj Chiquito Boulevard and 68th Street in Zone 6 of Mixco they searched for a human body, which was recovered and brought to the surface.
In this regard, the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office of Mixco explained that in follow-up to an investigation carried out for the kidnapping of a woman, they carried out search, inspection, registration and seizure of evidence in a property located in the La Florida neighborhood, zone 19 of Guatemala City.
“During the course of the investigation, important clues and information have been found that will contribute to strengthening the ongoing investigations,” said the MP.
Likewise, as a result of the investigations, it was possible to establish that in a ravine, located in Sacoj Chiquito, there was a “high probability” of locating human remains, so the pertinent coordinations were immediately made in order to corroborate this fact, locating a corpse wrapped in plastic bags at the site, it was added.
The human remains have already been sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in order to identify the victim, the MP said.
Preliminary reports indicate that people could be arrested in flagrante delicto, a firearm reported stolen has also been located and there are experts from Inacif in the raided property, who are carrying out luminol tests, the MP indicated.
