Boat disappears after leaving Cancun for Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres.- The alerts went off This Saturday, July 27th, on the high seas, before the disappearance of a boat between Cancun and Isla Mujeres.

According to data obtained, the 28-foot Hydrasport boat called “Jigging” with registration MAT3101427724-TPset sail at 5 a.m. in search of fishing in the Arrowsmith area.

However, their relatives never heard from them again, so they reported the incident to the authorities. There were two young fishermen on board.Leo González and Fabrizio Cámara Pérez, together with the captain.

Search for missing boat between Cancun and Isla Mujeres

It transpired that the last coordinates they received placed the vessel at about 18 miles south of the Nizuc basinapproximately, and the wind could have diverted it towards the Isla Mujeres area.

Investigations showed that the fishermen’s last known stop was in a cooperative in Isla Mujereswhere they picked up the captain, whose name has not yet been confirmed.

The Ministry of the Interior, the Harbor Master’s Office and the Navy (Semar) have intensified search efforts. Two boats and ships of the Navy are deployed in the area, focusing on the areas around the below Arrowsmith and to the north.

The “Águila 1” helicopter of the state Secretariat of Citizen Security has also joined the search efforts, with support from elements of Civil defense.

The family of fishermen requests the collaboration of anyone in the area who has seen the boat.
