The five-door version of the BMW M3 was first announced back in the summer of 2020, and last autumn the company fueled interest photo of a camouflaged prototype. And now… the wait continues. Fine-tuning “emki” with a different body type has not yet been completed. According to preliminary information, the debut should take place no earlier than summer. But a few days ago, the BMW M division published a video showing the prototype of the BMW M3 Touring E46 series built in 2000 (so far this is the only factory five-door M3) and a fragment of the future station wagon.
And now there are patent images of the future five-door emka, and they came from China! And in the published document, it seems, there was a reason for the delay in the debut. It turns out that the BMW M3 Touring from the very beginning will have a new interior, which will go to the entire restyled range of the third and fourth series. It is exactly the same as the electric liftback bmw i4, – with two combined screens without a visor and iDrive 8 media system.
Judging by the patent pictures, the station wagon will have the same front end design as the current sedan. BMW M3. The rear bumper with diffuser and four exhaust pipes is also almost intact. According to preliminary information, the station wagon will be offered only in the most advanced version of the BMW M3 Competition xDrive with a 510-horsepower engine, automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
