BMW is joining forces with the AirConsole gaming platform to integrate video games on board its models, which can be used when the vehicle is stationary.
On the occasion of the presentation of the latest generation of the BMW 5 Series, the Bavarian manufacturer tells us more regarding this new feature, which will make travel even more fun.
The group BMW has indeed partnered with the gaming platform AirConsoleto embed a unique type of video game in its vehicles, which will be offered for the first time in the new BMW 5 Series.
BMW AirConsole: video games on board
The latest German sedan will allow both driver and passengers to to play video games when the vehicle is stationary. What to have fun during breaks on a rest area, in particular when the vehicle is loaded.
In addition to the new BMW 5 Series, the AirConsole application will successively be offered inother BMW modelssuch as the BMW 7 Series, BMW iX or BMW i4 produced following July 23, 2023, or the BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW XM, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M produced following August 23, 2023. other BMW models will also be affected later.
To play it, users will need their smartphone that transforms for the occasion into a controller, as well as the BMW Curved Display. All you have to do is launch the AirConsole application on the touch screen, then connect your smartphone to it in a simple and intuitive way, using a QR code displayed on the BMW Curved Display. It is possible to play alone or with several players simultaneouslywhether together or in competition mode.

BMW AirConsole: simple and intuitive operation
The games offered on the latest BMWs are simple and intuitive : on the new Series 5, there are racing, sports, quiz and music games, as well as simulation, strategy, jumping and racing games and puzzle games.
At launch, no less thanregarding fifteen titles will be available, such as “Go Kart Go”, “Golazo”, “Music Guess” and “Overcooked”. The portfolio of available games will subsequently be expanded with other games.
To accompany this new functionality, the German firm presents a new BMW i5 with a unique skin, with large pixels reminiscent of video games of yesteryear. The color palette is inspired by the various games available on the AirConsole platform, while a design of video game controllers is found on the sides.
