BMW advises you to keep your car rather than buy a new or used one

Monika Dernai, head of BMW’s sustainability team, said late last week that a simple way to reduce waste and the impact of automobiles on the environment is simply to make them last longer.

While one might think that BMW wants to make its customers change vehicles as often as possible, the German automaker recommends the opposite instead. BMW sustainability manager Monika Dernai said that keeping his vehicles longer instead of replacing them every two years was the right solution.
