BMW 2 Series: a more assumed family status than ever


The second generation of this model seemed to us even less focused on the driving pleasure so dear to BMW.

Eight years following its launch, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, sometimes contested by fans of the brand, is completely renewed. It assumes even more its profile of a simple compact minivan, more oriented towards the passengers than the driver.

In 2014, wanting to compete with its great rival Mercedes and its B-Class, BMW landed on the segment of small minivans with the Series 2 Active and Gran Tourer. This choice may have shocked purists used to BMWs with rear-wheel drive and dynamic behavior. Yet, even when driven by the front wheels, the 2 Series Active Tourer did fine dynamically…for “traction”.
