France purchases 600,000 doses of vaccine

The agriculture ministry said last week it was setting up “control zones” around Belgium’s last outbreak and launching a vaccination campaign on a voluntary basis to limit the impact of the disease.

France has specifically purchased 600,000 doses of the vaccine from the German company Boehringer Ingelheim to vaccinate sheep, and 4 million doses from the Spanish company CZ Vaccines so that it can vaccinate up to 2 million cattle.

The vaccines will be distributed free to breeders.
