Bluesky suspends new subscriptions after high demand from users coming from Twitter

A Bluesky, a social network created by the founder of Twitter, announced last Saturday (1st) the temporary suspension of new registrations following the servers were congested with the number of people coming from Twitter. This high flow of registrations coincides with the implementation in the number of tweets seen per day in the Elon Musk community.

As reported by AllCellular, Twitter began limiting the amount of posts users can see per day to up to 600 posts for unverified accounts. The billionaire commented that it was an “emergency and temporary” measure, but the novelty displeased even the company’s most loyal users.

“We will be temporarily pausing Bluesky subscriptions while our team continues to resolve existing performance issues,” wrote Bluesky. The developer has not committed to setting a date for the return of registrations, but it is expected to happen in the coming days considering the high demand for the platform.

In addition to the statement warning of the suspension, the company also reveals that it has recorded record traffic in the last few hours, pointing to the accelerated departure of Twitter users. This is not the first time that alternative social networks have had a “boom” in registrations following the bluebird announced an unpopular change — remember Mastodon and Koo, for example.

Since Elon Musk took over Twitter management, the company seems to be going aimlessly, as the creation of features that users dislike has become recurrent. Apparently, the billionaire plans to increase the volume of Blue plan subscribers, but it is not clear how this will happen with the recurring migration of consumers.

While Twitter lets the community down, rivals take advantage of this disapproval to attract new users and grow in the wake of the main competitor’s unpopularity. Blueky, for example, gained over 30,000 members in less than 2 days.

What do you think of Elon Musk’s management? Still using Twitter? Tell us, comment!
