Blues king John Mayall has died. He was 90 years old

British blues musician John Mayall has died at the blessed age of 90. The administrator of his Instagram account informed about his death. John died on Monday, July 22 at his home in California. Honor his memory!

The most famous period of the singer, guitarist, keyboardist and harmonica player was in the 60s, when Eric Clapton played guitar in his band. In addition to Eric Clapton, JOHN MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS also featured other famous musicians. For example, Mick Fletwood or Mick Taylor, who later worked in the ROLLING STONES. The fact that some of the musicians who went through his band were more famous than him annoyed him at times, and he wasn’t shy about talking about it. “I’ve never had a hit, I’ve never won a Grammy, and (magazine) Rolling Stone has never written an article about me,” he told the Santa Barbara Independent in 2013. “I’m still an underground artist,” he added. Mayall, who received the Order of the British Empire for his work, also performed quite often in the Czech Republic. THE BLUESBREAKERS played their first concert in Czechoslovakia three years ago in November 1989 as part of the Bratislava Lyra festival. The last performance, planned for April 2022 as part of the farewell Farewell Tour to Brno, was ultimately thwarted by illness. Thanks for everything John and say hi up there.
