BlueCruise: Ford changes payment structure for hands-free system in cars

A Ford decided to change the way of offering its system BlueCruise to drivers who use the brand’s cars. In this way, it will be up to the customer to decide whether he wants to activate the “Free hands” in your car or not. The action has to do with the moment when many companies are adhering to subscription services.

What I previously saw among the alternatives provided by the automaker was a choice that it would not be possible to regret. In this sense, if the driver bought a vehicle with the smart service hardware, there was no turning back, something that should no longer happen.

The reason for this is due to the fact that several of the models in Ford’s portfolio are now sold with the hardware equipped by default. Therefore, the consumer will be able to choose to activate or deactivate BlueCruise, if he wishes. In addition, he will also have the options to pay monthly or yearly.

For those who don’t know, the automaker’s system was implemented in the second half of last year and is classified as level 2. In other words, most of the functions are controlled by the car itself, such as braking, acceleration and automatic lane change.

Currently, Ford claims that 225,000 cars are equipped with BlueCruise and according to its forecasts, more than 500,000 vehicles will have the system by the end of 2024. Likewise, the company claims that the feature operates normally at 97% of controlled access highways in the United States and Canada.

If you want to use the service with a monthly payment, the cost will be US$ 75. In the annual modality, the customer is entitled to 90 free bonus days and must disburse US$ 800. This new payout structure will be available first on Mustang Mac-E models. Finally, check out the details of the sale of an EcoSport model factory to the government of Bahia.
