Blue-white game takes place: Coach Scheiblehner also shoveled along

The masses of snow over the past few days did not stop at the Bundesliga: All three Saturday games had to be canceled – today’s game between Blau-Weiß Linz and Sturm Graz was also heavily in jeopardy. During an initial commissioning this morning at 9 a.m., the Bundesliga initially gave the green light for the game to kick off at 2:30 p.m.

The Blue-Whites have around 100 fans and helpers to thank for this. Yesterday, Saturday, the club called for a snow clearing operation. It started at 7 a.m. in the Hofmann-Personal Stadium, and just under an hour and a half later the field was shining green once more.

The working day started particularly quickly today for the Blau-Weiß coaching team. Head coach Gerald Scheiblehner was one of the first to pitch in with a shovel. His assistant coaches Ronald Riepl and Andreas Gahleitner also helped ensure that today’s game might be played.

The fun wasn’t neglected either. “You realize once more who the real pushers are,” said assistant coach Riepl with a full snow shovel. His boss Scheiblehner replied to him and his second assistant Gahleitner with a smile: “You are more the men for the rough stuff, I am the one for the fine details.”
