Blue Origin has launched an ongoing mission into space

This is its first mission since the accident in September 2022 without a crew.

While the rocket won’t be carrying people, it will be carrying scientific and research cargo, but the mission must be successful before Blue Origin can start sending wealthy adrenaline junkies into space again.

New Shepard suborbital rocket at 10 a.m. 43 min. took off on time from the launch site near Van Horn, Texas.

After separating from the launch vehicle, the capsule rose to a maximum height of 107 kilometers above sea level, well above the internationally recognized limit known as the Karman line, which is 100 km above sea level on Earth.

The launch vehicle then made a successful vertical descent to the launch site near the majestic Sierra Diablo mountains, and a few minutes later the capsule made a calm landing in the desert with three giant parachutes.

Scientific tests are carried out during the mission. One experiment is designed to demonstrate the performance of hydrogen fuel cell technology in microgravity conditions, the other to demonstrate how water and gas move in a weightless environment. In the future, they could be applied to monitoring the water quality of astronauts in space.
