blow for the Dems –

Another blow falls on the Democrats in the presidential campaign in the United States. Joe Biden is no longer in the running, replaced by his vice-president Kamala Harris, but the White House tenant continues to provide material to Donald Trump’s campaign. And once again his son is involved. The New York Times reveals that Hunter Biden “asked the US government for assistance with a potentially profitable energy project in Italy, while his father was vice-president”. The case emerges from documents “kept secret by the Biden administration for years”. According to the documents, in 2016 Hunter wrote at least one letter to the US ambassador to Italy, John R. Phillips, “asking for assistance for the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, of which he was a member of the board of directors”, writes the American newspaper.

Time opens with Kamala Harris in the redskin version. If Time does it, it's racist...

Officials were “uncomfortable” with the request made by the vice president’s son on behalf of a foreign company, and expressed their concerns: “This is a Ukrainian company and, purely to protect ourselves,” the U.S. government “should not actively lobby the Italian government without the company going through the DOC Advocacy Center” (a program of the Department of Commerce that helps American companies in their dealings with foreign governments), an official said in one of the documents that were recently made public and that the NYT saw.

It also appears that a lawyer for Hunter Biden asked US officials if they could arrange a meeting between the Ukrainian company and the president of the Tuscany region, where Burisma was carrying out a geothermal project. The meeting never materialized. The White House commented that Joe Biden “when he was vice president” was “not aware” that his son was addressing the US embassy in Italy on behalf of a foreign company.
