This May in St. Petersburg breaks stereotypes. Cheryomukha did not bring cold weather this year. Tells regarding the weather in the city May 15 chief forecaster Alexander Kolesov. “It’s another year once more when everything blooms at the same time,” he writes in his telegram channels.

The ongoing warming contributes to the rapid development of the flora. Chestnuts begin to bloom, lilacs swell, tulips bloom even near the Gulf of Finland, where it is always cooler. Bird cherry will soon begin to crumble, but there is still no cooling, Kolesov notes.
So far, the weather in the region is determined by the anticyclone, although today there may be short rains in some places, even with thunderstorms. But in the next two or three days, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region will fall under the influence of cyclones and there will be more rain. In particular, tomorrow, May 16, intermittent rains in the city are expected in the followingnoon. At the same time, unusually high temperatures will remain – up to 22-23 degrees.
Then, by Friday, the anticyclone will come once more and the precipitation will stop. It will also get a little cooler. On Thursday, the wind will turn to the west, so in the second half of the week, daytime temperatures will drop to 15-17 degrees.
“But we don’t worry, it will get warmer once more in the future,” the forecaster reassures.
