By data Bloomberg, the European Union plans to include the Russian Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Alina Kabaeva in the sanctions lists.
The list has yet to be approved by European governments and may change before it is finally approved, the report emphasizes.
EU ambassadors are expected to discuss the sixth round of sanctions on Friday morning.
Alina Kabaeva is proposed to be included in the sanctions lists, since since September 2014 she has been the chairman of the board of directors of the National Media Group holding, which owns shares in many Russian media, which, according to the EU, “spread propaganda.”
