Bloodshed in the North: Kiryat Shmona Reels from Devastating Rocket Attack

The names of the two murdered in the barrage towards Kiryat Shmona were allowed to be published: Revital Yehud The 45-year-old and her partner Devir a wand 43 years old, residents of the city.

Emergency medicine medic at MDA Aviad Hertz said: “As soon as we received the report of injuries from the fall, we went out in large forces to the scenes where calls were received. At one of the scenes we saw a man and a woman about 40 years old unconscious with shrapnel wounds. We performed medical tests, but their injuries were critical and we had to pronounce them dead on the spot.”

About two years ago, Reital recovered from cancer and decided to move from Eilat to Kiryat Shmona following her partner who started working as a confectioner in the Galilee. During the last months, members of Reutel’s family tried to convince her to leave Kiryat Shmona and evacuate to Be’er Sheva, but Reutel and Dvir decided to continue to stay in the city along with their three dogs who were also killed by shrapnel from the missile that fell near them.

Roital’s sister: “Our hearts are broken. We can’t believe that Roital is no longer with us. She was a woman of all good sense. Whoever returns his soul to the Creator of the world in the month of Elul and even before Yom Kippur is righteous and Roital was righteous.”

Meir (Miko) Ben Shtrit, a member of Dvir’s family: “We lost an amazing man who is all about a huge heart. A man who loves to help and loves justice. We feel like we are in a bad dream, but unfortunately this is our horrible reality.”

Dvir Sharvit will be buried in the cemetery in Kiryat Arba and Roital Yehud will be buried in the cemetery in Be’er Sheva. A notice will be issued on the date of the funeral.

Earlier today, a barrage of about forty rockets was launched from Lebanon towards Haifa and the Kiryat. Earlier, the IDF spokesman informed that two fighters in Unit 504 and a fighter from the Northern Nahal Brigade (228) were seriously injured in the battles in southern Lebanon. They were evacuated for medical treatment at a hospital, their families were informed.

Tragedy in Kiryat Shmona: Analysis of the Devastating Consequences of Hezbollah’s Rocket Attack

The ⁢recent rocket attack by Hezbollah on Kiryat Shmona, a city in northern Israel, has left two innocent civilians dead and a trail of destruction in its wake. The‌ victims, identified as Revital Yehud, 45, and her partner Devir Avand, 43, were residents of the city who had chosen to stay despite warnings from family members to evacuate.

According to reports, the attack was carried out by Hezbollah, a militant organization known for its hostility towards Israel [[3]]. The attack saw‌ around 20 rockets fired at⁢ the city, resulting in the deaths of Yehud and Avand, as well as ⁤the destruction of property and the killing of their ‍three dogs.

The circumstances surrounding the attack are heartbreaking. ‍Yehud, a cancer survivor, had moved to⁣ Kiryat Shmona from Eilat two years ago to join her partner, who had started working as a confectioner in the Galilee. ⁤Despite concerns from family members about the⁤ security situation in the city, the couple had chosen to stay.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team that responded to the attack reported that Yehud and Avand were found unconscious with shrapnel wounds, and despite medical efforts, their ‍injuries were critical, and they ⁤were pronounced dead at the scene [[2]].

This tragic incident highlights the devastating consequences of conflict and the human cost of violence. It also raises questions about the security situation in Kiryat‌ Shmona⁢ and the‍ ability of the Israeli military to‍ protect its citizens from attacks by militant organizations like Hezbollah.

The international community must condemn this attack and call for an end to the violence that has claimed so many innocent lives. It is imperative that a lasting solution is found to‍ the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, one that prioritizes the ‌safety and security of civilians on both ‌sides.

In the meantime, the residents ‍of Kiryat Shmona‌ are being urged to evacuate the city, citing concerns⁣ about the security situation. However, for many,⁢ the decision to leave is not an easy one. As seen in the case of Yehud and Avand, ‍the bonds of family and ⁤community can be strong, and the decision to stay can be driven by‍ a desire to protect one’s home and loved ones.

The Kiryat Shmona attack is a stark reminder of the fragility of life and⁢ the devastating consequences of conflict. ⁢It is our hope that the international community will⁣ come together‍ to condemn⁤ this attack and ⁤work towards a lasting solution that prioritizes the safety and security of all civilians ‍in the⁢ region.
