We haven’t heard from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 since Paradox withdrew development from Hardsuit Labs in early 2021. We knew the game had gone to a new studio, but we didn’t know which one. I personally offered to sacrifice my firstborn so Arkane or Streum On Studio would pick up the baby but it ended up at The Chinese Room. This English studio belongs to Sumo Digital which itself belongs to Tencent and is better known for its narrative walks like Dear Esther or Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture than for FPS-RPGs but let’s give the product a chance as they say in the Sentier.
The Chinese Room has therefore produced a video that does not show the game but explains the vision in such a vague and corporate that the script might have been written by ChatGTP. Fortunately, the first official trailer shows a bit of gameplay and bare-knuckle combat. A big trailer is expected to arrive in January, and the game will be released in late 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Cherries. It became a UE5 game in the process.
