The next blood drive is scheduled for Thursday February 8, 2024, from 2:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., at the village hall in Paimpol (Côtes-d’Armor). To go to a donation location, simply make an appointment, “even at the last minute, on dondesang.efs.sante.fr, the Blood Donation app or by telephone on 02 23 22 53 97”, indicates the French Blood Establishment (EFS).

What are the conditions for donating blood?
For those who wish to donate blood, you must be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh more than 50 kg, feel in good health and have an identity document on the day. There are, however, contraindications: fever , a vaccination less than four weeks old, a tattoo or piercing less than four months old, a stay in a region where certain diseases are prevalent.
For others, it is possible to donate blood up to six times a year for a man and up to four times for a woman. The blood collected is mainly used to treat people with long-term illnesses, such as cancer or leukemia, recalls the EFS. Every day, in France, 10,000 blood donations are needed to meet this requirement.
