Each day there will be people who have accidents. or is a disease that requires surgery that may have blood loss or a disease with emergency or chronic blood loss, the body is unable to produce blood or the body has destroyed blood cells causing the need for blood donation After each blood donation, the body will be able to produce replacement blood within 4 weeks.

Therefore, it is very pleasing that Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen has organized blood donations at the temple for over 50 years, according to the following information:
Wat Paknam opened for blood donation for the first time on October 10, 1973, with Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamangalajarn as chairman, together with the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, headed by Phra Phubet Chanapinyo. Bhikkhu Nawaka (New Monk) in 1973 was the initiator. Coordinated with the National Blood Center of the Thai Red Cross to receive blood donations from monks at Wat Pak Nam, both old and new, receiving 41 units of blood or 12,300 cc.
This event impressed Phrakhru Mongkol Phawananusit or Phra Achan Chai at that time, seeing its importance and having interest in it. There have been volunteers who have been responsible for accepting blood donations all the way up to this day. Initially, blood donations were accepted only during Buddhist Lent, once a year. Until the year 1977, there were more and more people interested in donating blood. The temple therefore organizes blood donations regularly every 3 months, 4 times a year. In total, over the past 50 years, blood donations have been received 181 times, receiving a total of 215,406 units of blood or 86,162,400 cc.

To travel to see blood donation events around the world since 1991, totaling 30 countries. In traveling to each country If the blood donation term ends, Phrakhru Mongkhon Phawananusit will also donate blood in that country. Total blood donation in 12 countries 17 times and blood donation within the country 74 times, totaling 91 times.
Later, the temple opened for organ donation services. in the body, including the eyes, tissues, etc.
Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to every one of you, especially Phrakru Mongkol Phawananusit (Chai Kittisaro) who has taken the initiative and creativity and made great benefits to the Thai people for over 50 years!? In total, the total amount of blood donated reached over 86 million cc.
Therefore, I would like to respectfully invite temples, other organizations, and all citizens aged 17-70 years to please consider donating blood. Please donate in your birthday month. And please donate every 3 months following that. The reason why I ask you to consider donating during your birthday is because I want donations to spread every day, every week, every month, not just on His Majesty the King’s birthday. or the Royal Family only which will be too concentrated in donations On that day there will be many people. May not receive adequate and thorough care and also cause too much blood But there may be a shortage on other days.
I must express my gratitude to all of you. Once once more, on behalf of the people and all the patients.
