Ahn Sung-ki (70), a national actor who recently announced the fact that he was battling blood cancer, attended a publication commemorative event and reported his current situation.
According to Yonhap News on the 14th, Ahn Seong-ki attended the publication commemoration of the memoir publication of Lee Woo-seok, chairman of Dong-a Export Corporation, held at the Cinema Park of the Korean Film Archive in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on the same day.
Ahn Sung-ki, wearing a black hat and casual clothes, had a slightly swollen face, but had a bright expression throughout the scene.
Ahn Sung-ki replied, “It’s okay” to a reporter asking for his well-being, and said, “I hardly ever do it” when asked if I do a lot of outdoor activities, Yonhap News reported.
Previously, Ahn Sung-ki attended the opening ceremony of ‘Director Bae Chang-ho’s 40th Anniversary Special Exhibition’ held at CGV Apgujeong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 15th of last month. Ahn Sung-ki went on stage with the support of actor Kim Bo-yeon, and showed a swollen face and wearing a wig, raising the ‘health abnormality’ once more.
Ahn Sung-ki’s agency, Artist Company, said, “Actor Ahn Sung-ki is currently undergoing treatment for blood cancer and is improving as much as he regularly manages it thoroughly.”
He added, “We will focus on recovery and treatment so that we can greet you with a healthy image.”
Ahn Sung-ki was born in 1952 and is 70 years old this year. Ahn Sung-ki, who made his debut in the movie ‘Twilight Train’ in 1957, gained the national actor title by appearing in over 160 films, including 70 as a child and 90 as an adult.
