Bloober Team says it’s working on multiple games but dodges Silent Hill rumors

License Silent Hill has been talking regarding her more than ever lately, when Konami remains completely silent on the subject. It must be said that the rumors are starting to gather, with reliable sources, so that the return of the series is an open secret now. Bloober Team is obviously at the center of all these stories, since several sources indicate that the studio behind The Medium might be working on a remake of Silent Hill 2. And if the studio acknowledges that it is currently working on several games, it does not wish to talk regarding rumors.

The studio wants to keep its identity, even on another license

Interviewed at IGNthe CEO of the studio, Piotr Babienosaid he might not comment on the rumors surrounding this Silent Hill 2 Remakebut that he hopes to make announcements regarding the studio’s future plans very soon:

« We cannot comment on anything we do because we value our relationship with our partners. So we can’t say anything. We will make an announcement regarding our future plans as soon as possible. Then you will know much more. Officially. »

We know that the studio is working in collaboration with Konami on an unannounced project, but the two companies still want to keep it a secret. Despite this, Babieno spoke regarding the difficulty of working with a license that belongs to another entity than Bloober Team:

« I would say it’s hard to work with someone who owns a license you’re working on, but we always talk with their owners, saying, “Guys, we’d love to use your license, but we’d love to tell our own story. If we’re not able to tell our own story, if we don’t have creative freedom, it doesn’t make sense, because Bloober Team won’t make a great game.” […] That’s why we try to only create titles where we can say to ourselves, “OK, this is going to be a Bloober Team game, not someone else’s.” So even on the project we can’t talk regarding, it will still be a Bloober Team title.. »

If we take these statements at face value and link it all to rumours, we can therefore say that Bloober Team wanted to reimagine Silent Hill 2 in his sauce. If the rumor is true, once more. We will no doubt discover all this in the coming weeks.
