Blogger Elena Blinovskaya, who was placed under house arrest by the court as part of a criminal case on non-payment of taxes for almost 1 billion rubles, can be transferred to a pre-trial detention center. The reason for this may be the active activity in social networks by the “curators of her marathons”, reported TASS in law enforcement agencies. It is known that the Presnensky Court of Moscow forbade the use of mobile communications and the Internet to Ms. Blinovskaya herself.

In the event that violations of prohibitions are established on her part, law enforcement officers may go to court with a petition to toughen the measure of restraint from house arrest to detention, ”the agency’s interlocutor said.
Lawyer Sergei Zhorin confirmed that such a request is possible. He cited the example of his client blogger Edward Beal, who served time in the case of an accident in the center of Moscow. The lawyer recalled that in relation to the blogger, when considering the case on the merits in the Presnensky Court of Moscow, the Criminal Executive Inspectorate (CII) asked to toughen his preventive measure under similar circumstances. Employees of the UII found one of the blogger’s fake Instagram accounts (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) and considered that it was led by Edward Beal himself, Mr. Zhorin said. As a result, the court did not send him to a pre-trial detention center.
Elena Blinovskaya was detained while trying to cross the border of the Russian Federation on April 27. The next day, the court placed her under house arrest until June 26. The blogger is accused of tax evasion from an individual on an especially large scale in the amount of more than 918 million rubles. It is known that she has already transferred part of the unpaid funds to the budget.
