Heroes of the Storm will no longer receive content updates. Blizzard announced this on the official website of the company.
According to the developers, MOBAs will continue to be supported in the same format as other classic titles like StarCraft and StarCraft II. The company will run Seasons and Hero Rotation in Heroes of the Storm, but new content will no longer appear in the in-game store. Blizzard also noted that future updates will primarily be aimed at improving the stability of the client and fixing problems. Game balance changes will be made “as needed”. In addition, the studio thanked MOBA fans for their support and announced that they will give users a “very rare epic magical lizard.”
Heroes of the Storm was released on June 2, 2015. The game was conceived as a competitor to Dota 2 and League of Legends from Valve and Riot Games. However, in 2018, Blizzard ended support for the HotS esports scene. In addition, some of the developers were transferred to other projects of the company. According to journalists, Heroes of the Storm was the least successful Blizzard title.
