In an article published just now, Blizzard talks regarding further development for Heroes of the Storm. This one will still have Seasons, hero rotations, and balance tweaks, but the title won’t receive new content anymore. A page turns for the Nexus.
In June, we celebrated the seventh anniversary of Heroes of the Storm. This mixture of legendary characters from our multiple universes has created a unique experience. Heroes and its community are home to some of the most passionate gamers from around the world, and we’re committed to making sure you can enjoy your Nexus adventures for a long time to come.
We will continue to care for Heroes as we do for our other long-running games, StarCraft and StarCraft II. We will continue with season changes and hero rotations. The in-game store will remain operational, but we no longer plan to add new purchasable content. Future updates will focus on patching and client durability, not to mention any necessary balancing.
As a thank you, in next week’s patch we’ll be giving away the coveted epic Arcane Lizard mount to all players and gamers.
We want to thank our Heroes community from the bottom of our hearts. You are still part of our most passionate communities. We are honored by your loyalty and unwavering support. And as usual: see you very soon in the Nexus!
