Just ahead of Season of the Malignant, the first seasonal update for Diablo IV, Blizzard has released a massive update that has covered just regarding every aspect of action-RPG. When the mega patch notes dropped, it didn’t take long for players to start sharing their opinions on the changes, which led to something of a protest on the ratings platforms, where the user review scores for the game have dropped significantly. Blizzard has since commented on these fan actions and said the patch was both bad and that they would never do anything similar once more in the future.
As part of the recent stream of fireside chat developers, Adam Fletcher, Community Manager, said: “We want to thank everyone for their feedback regarding player power reduction. We know it’s bad. We know it’s not fun… We also want to talk regarding what we were trying to achieve specifically with this patch and the changes players ended up seeing. And then, separately, we also want to talk regarding the fact that we never plan to do a patch like this once more. »
The idea of the patch was to make the game more fun, but that clearly didn’t happen. To that end, Blizzard promises to fix a few different parts of the game that changed with the patch, including Legendary aspects for Sorcerer and Barbarian, more storage, larger stack sizes, and more exciting Nightmare dungeons. The catch is that this next patch will need a bit of time to roll out, so don’t expect to see it for a few weeks.
