Blinken ‘not well informed’, says of concern over slain journalists

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador asked the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinkto be informed and not to act in an interfering manner because Mexico is not a US colony, in addition to the fact that his comments regarding the situation of journalists in the country are not true.

This following the US official expressed concern regarding the number of journalists killed in Mexico.

“The high number of journalists killed in Mexico this year and the continuing threats they face are concerning. I join those who call for greater responsibility and protection for Mexican journalists. My heart goes out to the loved ones of those who gave their lives for the truth,” said the number two of the Joe Biden administration through Twitter.

In his press conference, President López Obrador said that Blinken is misinformed, “because otherwise he would be acting in bad faith.”

“What he is maintaining is not true, it is very unfortunate that there are murders of journalists, we already know that, nothing more than that in all cases they are acting, there is no impunity, they are not State crimes and if the Head of the Department of State of the United States government intervenes, I think that it does not know, it is not well informed regarding this situation because there are no State crimes”.

He pointed out that if Blinken gives his opinion on the situation of journalists in Mexico, he would like me to tell him why they finance a legal, legitimate group that opposes his government. “Why are they giving money to Claudio X. González’s group? Let him answer me.”

He pointed out that it is very unfortunate that journalists lose their lives for different reasons that they are dealing with, “but in the United States, governments have that bad habit that they are the street lamp, the darkness of the house… This shows that there is a lot of bonding between groups Mexican conservatives with the United States government.
