Blincoln “TikTok is a threat to US security… It must end in some way”

US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln said the Chinese video-sharing app ‘TikTok’ was a threat to US national security and should be eradicated.

At the House Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the 23rd, Secretary Blincoln said, “I believe so,” to the question of whether the TikTok app is a threat to US security, and said that TikTok’s threat to national security “must end in some way, and it will not be executed.” There are many ways,” he said.

Minister Blincoln mentioned that the Joe Biden administration proposed selling TikTok to TikTok’s Chinese parent company ‘ByteDance’ and the ban on using TikTok within the State Department, and explained that the United States is taking necessary measures.

In this regard, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maoning said at a regular briefing on the 24th, “The Chinese government attaches great importance to the privacy and security of individuals regarding data, and protects it according to the law.”

Spokesman Ma also said that the Chinese government “has never, and cannot, require any business or individual to collect or provide data or information from outside the country for the Chinese government in a way that violates local law.”
