U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blincoln denounced Ukraine’s secondary civilian genocide on the 5th (local time), saying it “represents Russia’s deliberate murder, torture, sexual assault and atrocities.”
According to CNN and others, he told reporters before boarding a flight from Maryland to Brussels, Belgium, on the 5th (local time), “What we saw in the secondary car was not the arbitrary action of criminal units. It was a deliberate act of murder, torture, sexual assault and atrocities.”
He was on a trip to Europe to attend a meeting of the foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the foreign ministers of the seven major countries (G7).
“The world is witnessing the death and destruction left behind as Russian troops retreat from parts of Ukraine,” Blincoln said. In particular, the fear in the Bucha region is truly shocking people around the world.”
“The (civilian) mass burials and images of bodies in the Bucha region reinforce our resolve and the resolve of countries around the world to one day hold those who perpetrate these acts accountable in some way or another,” he said.
He added that he is working with other countries to collect evidence for Ukraine and the UN Human Rights Council to investigate Russia’s war crimes.
“Terrifyingly and tragically what we are seeing in the secondary and the like supports it, but in all these cases there is a very important effort going on to gather evidence, document it and support other investigations,” he said. This is what I am doing,” he said.
