One second, one accident – and Ben finds himself a single father of twins. The grandmother fills in constantly. Years of everyday life pass by on autopilot, small children become school children. Until chance takes control once more, this time happier: In Emma, Ben finds a like-minded person who also has to come to terms with a painful loss.
The drama sensitively tells the story of going through grief – two steps forward, one step back – of accepting the unfathomable in order to turn back to life. The series (screenplay: Jamie Davis, director: Tom Vaughan) succeeds credibly, also thanks to its authentic actors.
An additional love story that is dubious for everyone involved is somewhat unnecessary. A striking stumbling block that wasn’t even necessary. We’ve known for a long time who belongs together.
