Sales doubled

The club also provided an insight into the world of financial figures: Blau-Weiß closed the last promotion season with a turnover of 3.66 million euros – but also with a negative result of 600,000 euros. “This is mainly due to the fact that investments were made in the team and, of course, bonuses had to be paid as a result of the promotion. There were also adjustments for advance payments,” explains BW managing director Christoph Peschek.

An outlook for the current season was also given: Sales are expected to double to around seven million euros. A black zero is expected for the annual result.

Peschek also reported a significant increase as a result of the growth strategy in terms of viewers from an average of 1,027 to currently 4,859, in annual ticket holders from 446 to 2,705 and in business partners from 34 to 111. The club is also pleased regarding an increase in club members from 279 to 351.

This proposal was hotly debated

There was also a proposal at yesterday’s meeting – this was put forward by the club itself: A new membership structure should make it possible for children and young people to also have the opportunity to become a member.

A change to the membership categories Classic, Premium, Forever memberships was hotly discussed: Up until now it was possible to have the following memberships had the right to a VIP ticket for a blue and white home game per season. That is no longer possible. The simple reason: The VIP rooms of the Donauparkstadion are bursting at the seams. This motion was accepted, but there were five votes once morest.
