Blamont. The flirtation between Venus and Jupiter

Passionate regarding astronomy, poets or simply curious, several inhabitants of Blâmontois who have raised their noses to the sky in recent days have not been disappointed.

A conjunction between two celestial bodies, namely an event in which they approach to the point of seeming very close, might be observed with the naked eye.

On Wednesday evening, shortly following sunset around 6:30 p.m. and then the next day, Thursday March 2 around 6:34 p.m., Venus and Jupiter thus flirted in the sky; the second being positioned just above the first.

The two brightest planets in the solar system were photographed by Nadine, a Blâmontaise, from the terrace in front of the Maison des Associations, rue Traversière.
