Blake Griffin will be a new player for the Boston Celtics

There is less left to lighten the overload of interiors that persist as free agents. According to advance Adrian Wojnarowski the Boston Celtics have acquired the services of Blake Griffin. In principle it is a fully guaranteed one-year contract. Although figures are unknown, the logical thing would be that he would have signed for the veteran’s minimum salary.

Griffin arrives in Massachusetts to alleviate the loss of Robert Williams, who will be absent between two and three months. Boston’s interior rotation was too short to survive with Al Horford as the only guarantee center at 36 years old. The power forward is a very different profile from Williams and is far from representing the interior correction and vertical threat of the young center. Still, Griffin can still put up some quality minutes as a rotation complement. Last year with the Nets he played a total of 56 games —24 as a starter— averaging 17 minutes, 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds.
