Bladder cancers represent approximately 10,000 new cases each year in France. And like many cancers, the earlier it is diagnosed, the better the chances of recovery. Here are the symptoms that should alert you.

Blood in the urine

Hematuria, that is to say the presence of blood in the urine, is the main symptom of bladder cancer. Bleeding often appears at the end of urination. This cancer is four times more common in men aged 50 to 70.

Urination disorders

In the case of bladder cancer – the second urinary cancer following that of the prostate – the patient may also suffer from urination disorders. Among them, the inability to urinate, or on the contrary, a frequent and urgent urge to go to the toilet.

Urinary burns

Favored by smoking, it can cause persistent urinary burns, and/or pain during urination, as well as repeated urinary tract infections. As a reminder, bladder cancer is detected by urinalysis and medical imaging examinations.
