The music video making film for BLACKPINK’s 2nd regular album ‘Pink Venom’ was released on the 20th.
Unlike the way they showed off their fatal aura in the music video, Blackpink led the scene with a bright and pleasant atmosphere throughout.
In particular, Jennie and Lisa, who relentlessly pouring out old-school hip-hop vibes on the bustling beat, made fans laugh with their lovely off-screen side.
The same goes for Rosé with an electric guitar and Jisoo, who plays a seductive vampire. Even though they showed off their free-spirited swag, they aroused the admiration of the viewers with their perfect scalloped choreography.
It was also known that one of the mysterious figures wearing black cloth in Jisoo’s geomungo playing scene was Lisa. After filming the scene, he took off the goggles that covered his face and smiled at the camera, adding to the fun of watching the fans.
The music video for ‘Pink Venom’ is receiving a warm response from global fans as it boasts the highest production cost in YG history and boasts a splendid visual beauty.
The devices that give a glimpse of Korea’s unique beauty, such as the geomungo and sundial, as well as BLACKPINK’s limitless concept digestibility and powerful performance in the colorful set made it impossible to take their eyes off the viewers.
The New York Times praised the music video for ‘Pink Venom’, saying, “A new wind has blown once once more in their music, which was thought to be no longer new.”
In addition, the New York Times added, “Blackpink has proven that the ‘aesthetics of maximalism’, which was only talked regarding in philosophy, also exists in art.”
The music video for ‘Pink Venom’ surpassed 80 million views within 21 hours of being released on YouTube at 1 pm (Korea time) on the 19th, and early topped the ‘Most Viewed Videos in 24 Hours’ chart.
Also, if this trend continues, it is expected to break the record of 100 million views for a K-pop girl group’s music video (‘How You Like That’ in 32 hours).
The soundtrack of ‘Pink Venom’ is also strong. The song topped the iTunes song charts in 69 countries on the first day of its release and occupied the world charts at once.
In Korea’s major music charts, it topped Bugs, Vibe, and Genie. In the Melon Top 100, which has been changed to a total of 24-hour usage and real-time number of users, it entered the top 100 at once and is increasing its ranking, surpassing the chart ‘All Kill’.
