No home game would be possible without them – the volunteers of the Steinbach Black Wings. From the stewards to the timekeepers to the statisticians, dozens of people perform free services during the Black Wings’ home games. The people of Linz said thank you for this with an invitation to go karting.
In addition to roast pork and free drinks, the people of Linz were also able to try their hand at e-kart racing. Michael Geltner, who gave a eulogy for the helpers in place of the ill President Peter Nader, ultimately had the last word on the racetrack. The press spokesman prevailed over photographer Matthias Witzany and judge Sascha Hölzl.

**Interview with Michael Geltner, Press Spokesman for Steinbach Black Wings**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Michael! It sounds like the Steinbach Black Wings’ volunteer appreciation event was a huge success! Can you tell us a bit about the importance of volunteers to the team?
**Michael Geltner:** Absolutely! Our volunteers are the backbone of our home games. From stewards to timekeepers and statisticians, they put in countless hours without any compensation. Their dedication ensures that everything operates smoothly, and we couldn’t host these events without their hard work.
**Interviewer:** It’s great to hear that you value their contributions. I understand that the volunteers were invited to a go-karting event as a form of appreciation. How did this idea come about?
**Michael Geltner:** The idea stemmed from a desire to give back to these amazing individuals who dedicate their time to our team. We wanted to organize something fun where they could relax and enjoy themselves, and what better way to do that than through a little friendly competition on the racetrack!
**Interviewer:** That sounds thrilling! How did the day go, and were there any memorable moments?
**Michael Geltner:** The day was fantastic! Not only did everyone enjoy some delicious roast pork and drinks, but seeing the volunteers compete on the race track was priceless. I must say, I had a bit of an advantage, but it was all in good fun! It was great to see the camaraderie and smiles all around.
**Interviewer:** And you ended up taking the top spot on the racetrack, beating out some fierce competition?
**Michael Geltner:** (laughs) Yes! I managed to leave my fellow competitors, including our photographer and one of our judges, in the dust. But in all seriousness, the real victory was celebrating together and acknowledging the hard work of our volunteers.
**Interviewer:** It’s wonderful to see a team that truly appreciates its supporters. What message would you like to convey to the volunteers?
**Michael Geltner:** I want them to know just how much we value their time and dedication. Each of them plays a critical role in our success, and events like these are our way of saying thank you. We genuinely look forward to more fun times ahead.
**Interviewer:** Thank you so much for sharing, Michael! We appreciate your time and all the hard work you and the volunteers put into the Black Wings.
**Michael Geltner:** Thank you for having me! We appreciate the coverage and support!
