Black Myth : Wukong presents itself as an Action-RPG with realistic artistic direction, which plunges us into the heart of a feudal China populated by evil creatures from oriental folklore. The title is a free adaptation of the novel Journey to the West by Wu Cheng En, a great classic of Asian literature which recounts the adventures of Sun Wukong, an immortal monkey who notably inspired Akira Toriyama for the design and story of Goku in Dragon Ball.

With Black Myth: Wukong, we are still far from the colorful world of manga. dark and scary, Game Science’s title is closer to From Software’s games in its composition. In terms of confrontations, we might also compare the universe of the two studios which seem to share a common love for Dantesque combat, Wukong nevertheless being much more agile, lively and airy than the soft-spoken knights of Dark Souls et Elden Ring. Failing to have the same skills, one thing is certain for Wukong as for the warriors of Fromsoftware, the dragons are tough opponents, proof is with this video.

The full power of Unreal Engine 5

This is not the first time that Black Myth has been talked regarding. Already when it was presented in 2020, the game had shown itself to be breathtaking with its gameplay and its graphics to die for. This paw, we obviously owe it to the work of the Game Science developers, but also to the full power of Unreal Engine 5, the latest version of Epic Games’ famous graphics engine. If the studio admitted not to expect such enthusiasm from the public, it is clear that the game is now eagerly awaited by a large number of players, as evidenced by the views generated by each of the software’s videos.

If all goes well, Black Myth: Wukong should be released next year on PC and next-gen consoles.
